ARE YOU WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
Participants are encouraged to sign up as a team but individual applications will be considered. The hackathon will consist of teams of 2 to 5 people. The criteria below serves as a guide to the selection process.
- Be 18 years and older.
- University student studying Computer Science or a related field.
- Young Professional working in tech or aspiring to work in the tech space.
- Have a keen interest in AI, Machine Learning and the future of technology.
- Interested in entrepreneurship or at least a budding startup.
- Good understanding of programming languages and software development.
- Be able to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions to the challenges presented at the hackathon.
- Experience with relevant technologies such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platforms, Docker, REST APIs and Webhooks, Webhooks, Front End development, Python, Machine learning
- Ability to communicate ideas effectively through presentations or demonstrations.
- Willingness and adaptability to working in groups.
Hackathon participants will receive:

- 1st Prize: R10000 cash + R10k commission to build out a POC over 2 months with the opportunity to pitch the POC at the Vulavula Demo Day in September with tickets to the event
- 2nd Prize: R5000 cash and tickets to Vulavula Demo Day
- 3rd Prize: R2500
